pawlity-gum-barrier-dental-powder
Pawlity® Gum Barrier Dental Powder

A daily powder for the one place a brush never reaches. Under the edge of your dog's gum there is a pocket, three to ten millimetres deep, and nothing you put in his mouth goes down there: the brush, the stick, the bone and the spray all work above the gum line. To reach it through his mouth takes general anaesthesia and a curette, which is why a cleaning costs over a thousand dollars.

But it works fine in the other direction. Every time he chews, his own bacteria leave that pocket and enter his bloodstream. Across 164,706 dogs, the further the gum disease went, the more damage showed up on the valves of the heart.

So Pawlity® Gum Barrier does not go in through his mouth. He swallows it with his food, it enters his blood, and it comes back into his mouth in his saliva, the only thing that sits in that pocket twenty-four hours a day. 300 mg of whole dried Ascophyllum nodosum per 2 g scoop, 600 mg in a two-scoop serving, the one ingredient in this category with a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled canine trial: plaque 38% lower than placebo, tartar 35% lower by day 30, gum bleeding 67% lower, and the sulphur compounds behind the smell 46% lower at day 90, over ninety days in sixty dogs.

No mint, no bicarbonate, no abrasive, no surfactant, no probiotics. The green is seaweed, spinach and parsley, and none of it is a perfume, which means if the smell goes, you know why. Two scoops on his food, four seconds a day. 100 g tub, 50 scoops, with the 2 g scoop inside. 90-day money-back guarantee.

Not for dogs with a thyroid condition: brown seaweed is naturally high in iodine.
